Here are a few frequently used acronyms that are commonly associated with our platform:
AMI - Amazon Machine Image. An AMI is a pre-configured template used to create virtual machine instances, known as Amazon EC2.
API - Application Programming Interface. Set of rules, protocols, and tools that allows different software applications to communicate and interact with each other.
AWS - Amazon Web Services. A cloud services provider.
AZURE - Cloud computing platform and service offered by Microsoft
CFT - AWS CloudFormation Template. JSON or YAML formatted text file that defines the infrastructure and resources needed to deploy and manage an application or services
CI/CD - Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment. An automated process for integrating code changes, testing and deploying code.
CSP - Cloud Service Provider - Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure
CSV - Comma Separated Values. It is a plain text file format used to store and exchange tabular data.
DEV - Development environment
EC2 - Elastic Compute Cloud. It allows users to launch and manage virtual servers, known as instances, in the AWS cloud.
ENV. - Environment. An environment where developers can build and prepare their code for deployment or distribution or Production
EULA - End User License Agreement. A legal contract between a provider and a user.
GCP - Google Cloud Platform
IAM - Identity and Access Management.
INFRA - Infrastructure. The foundational components and systems that support the operation of software applications, data storage, and communication.
MFA - Multi-factor Authentication. Security measure that creates an additional layer of security on top of a username and password to access a system or application.
OU - Organizational Unit. A construct used to organize projects, applications or products and its groups in order to create a hierarchy.
PROD - Production environment
RDS - Relational Database Service. Amazon's service for providing pre-configured databases.
SAML - Security Assertion Markup Language. It is an XML-based open standard for exchanging authentication and authorization data between identity providers (IdPs) and service providers (SPs).
SMTP - Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. Protocol for sending email.
